Just blame the Russians

Since the Cold War, Russia has been the cliche “bad guy,” the scapegoat for all our problems. From Hollywood to the mainstream media, Russia has been our go-to source of problems. With good reason do we link our problems with Russia. The Cold War was a long and arduous time filled with terror, both physical and mental. The US and the former USSR had the longest staring match in history, topping off at around 45 years. We, as Americans, have the right to be wary of Russia. But not everything is Russia’s fault.

Current delegations say that Russia turned the election to Donald Trump’s favor. The jury is still out on this assertion, but if it were true, Trump would not have won both recounts, with some of the recounted votes going in his favor.

Whether or not Russia was in favor of Trump winning the election, blaming the over 34 electoral votes and half the nation voting for Trump is not a fluke and can not be wholly blamed on Russia’s interference. We know they hacked the Democratic National Committee; they released the information that may have persuaded voters in Trump’s favor, but let’s not forget that if the DNC did not have as much evidence of corruption on their servers, this wouldn’t have been as major a setback. And since, as WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange claims, John Podesta’s (former Hillary Clinton campaign manager) password for his emails was ‘password,’ the DNC clearly needs to get its act together, instead of blaming its failures on Russia.
