Kicking it into action

As the PV boys soccer season is starting up, the team is beginning to get prepared.  Corbin Stone, head coach, said, “We are excited to start our 2017 spring season; turnout for the team is high, particularly at the freshmen and sophomore levels.  Although we will be young, we will have a small cadre of seasoned veterans who are capable of changing a game and helping us reach our goals and dreams: to make the State Championships.  Our program’s culture continues to grow as does our style of play.  The team will not sit back and defend, we will press and win the ball back quickly to score in more advantageous positions on the field.  With some new opponents and events on the schedule, we look forward to the challenges ahead of us.”

In order to help prepare for the season many of the players have been conditioning and working on their ball handling skills.  Jeremy Ramsey, sophomore, said, “I am very excited to get the soccer season started next week.  I think that our summer and winter camps have really prepared us for the season and got that competitive mindset into our heads.  With our seniors leading the way I think that we’ll have a great year.”  Although the team is young, they all have years of experience and a strong love for the sport.  Along with attending summer and winter camps, seniors are helping lead the way by planning team bonding activities.  These activities will help build a strong team chemistry before the season starts.

Be sure to catch the boys in action at a couple games throughout their season!

Hi, I am very excited to be a part of the Spartan Shield this year as student life editor.  I am on the PV cheer squad and love cheering on the Spartans in all athletics.  In my free time, I love to spend time with family, friends, and go on adventures.  Next year I plan to attend the University of Oregon and major in Forensic Psychology with a minor in Arabic studies.
