2019-2020: Everyone Has a Story
Everyone has a story to tell. In this section of the Spartan Shield, a Pleasant Valley student is randomly selected and interviewed. Our Shield staff will uncover what story each selected Spartan has to tell.
Chapter 66: Sharon Zenil
Meet Pleasant Valley freshman, Sharon Zenil. In her free time and in art class Zenil enjoys drawing. She likes mainly likes to draw characters and enjoys making comics.
Chapter 67: Grace Theilen
Meet Pleasant Valley senior, Grace Theilen. Theilen has been an active student at PV and has participated in a variety of sports. From seventh grade to freshman year, she was a part of the softball and girls’ track team.
Chapter 68: Arra Cottrell
Meet Pleasant Valley junior, Arra Cottrell. Junior Arra Cottrell has had success at Pleasant Valley within a variety of activities, including varsity volleyball. She has been playing volleyball for a total of eight years.
Chapter 69: Gena German
Meet Pleasant Valley senior, Gena German. As an outstanding senior at Pleasant Valley, Gena German is truly committed to excellence. When it comes to students who like to get involved with activities in and out of school, German is the perfect example.
Chapter 70: Ryan Saddler Jr.
Meet Pleasant Valley Junior, Ryan Saddler Jr. Ryan Saddler Jr is a very involved, role model student in the class of 2022. As a very academically and activity motivated person, he participates in football, baseball, choir, and more.
Chapter 71: Amber Matthews
Meet Pleasant Valley junior, Amber Matthews. Matthews was born in Ceiba, Puerto Rico and raised in South Korea. She loves traveling and has traveled to a variety of places. Because her parents served in the Army, she has been to many countries.
Chapter 72: Kole Sommer
Meet Pleasant Valley junior, Kole Summer. 16-year-old Junior Kole Sommer is a track and cross country runner, an aspiring astrophysicist, and maybe the one person in the entirety of Pleasant valley high school that likes running the mile.
Chapter 73: Cally Thomas
Meet Pleasant Valley junior, Cally Thomas. She started making pottery when she was younger and is an active member of the ceramics club at PV. She has even found a way to make money using her skills and sells her pottery creations that take her only a few minutes to make.
Chapter 74: Alexa Schneider
Meet Pleasant Valley freshman, Alexa Schneider. As a student at PV, she participates with the choir. After winning the Choral Student Award in eighth grade, Schneider gained hope that hard work results in great success. Currently, she is a part of the Concert Choir, where she is able to display her passion for singing everyday.
Chapter 75: Katie Larsen
Meet Pleasant Valley freshman, Katie Larsen. School and gymnastics take up a lot of Larsen’s time, especially with her driving time to gymnastics, but when she has some free time she likes to relax and spend it with her friends.
