Chapter 74: Alexa Schneider

Alexa Schneider, a freshman at Pleasant Valley, not only contributes great success to PV, but also contributes to its welcoming environment with her compassionate character.

Schneider finds life worthwhile when living it compassionately. Her warm-hearted character may have stemmed from a life lesson she has followed considerably growing up: “to try and be the bigger person in a bad situation.” This lesson derived as a result of frequent fights with her friends. However, being able to grow past these struggles has allowed her to develop into an individual who values the creation of strong relationships with her loved ones.

Regarding loved ones, Schneider dedicates much of her time to her family. Although her parents are divorced, she makes time for both her mother and father each year. She grew up in the Quad City area for the entirety of her childhood alongside her twin brother, Zach. A couple years later, she was blessed with new additions to the family, two younger sisters, Ella and Megan, of which are also twins. Other members of her family include her boxer, Bella.

Starting off her freshman year at PV, Schneider was very nervous to officially take on her high school career. However, with reassurement from new friends and faculty, she has prepared to deal with any obstacle that comes her way.

As a student at PV, she participates with the choir. After winning the Choral Student Award in eighth grade, Schneider gained hope that hard work results in great success. Currently, she is a part of the Concert Choir, where she is able to display her passion for singing everyday. She hopes to take on more opportunities to improve and prosper as a singer throughout her high school years.

Though algebra is Schneider’s favorite course, she has an indescribable affection towards writing. Whenever she is able to find time in her busy life, she enjoys being able to creatively write stories and poetry, as it provides a distinct way for her to express herself.

Another component of Schneider’s life is her love for softball. She takes part in an all-inclusive summer team at the park, where girls around the community get together to play the sport. This past summer, Schneider’s team decided on the team name “Streaks”, of which they were referred to all season. She was not only able to hone some skills, but she was also able to build new friendships. Even though she doesn’t compete through the school, she hopes to keep the pastime in her future.

Outside of school, Schneider loves to travel. She prefers staying close to home, which may serve as an explanation as to why she has never been out of the country. A recent trip she enjoyed was visiting her family in Wisconsin; traveling up to see them is something Schneider looks forward to greatly.

As Schneider moves along on her high school journey, her eyes are open to the countless opportunities that surround her. She is planning on continuing her passion of giving to others. This can be exemplified through her decision to help with a church camp this summer, where she will be able to sort gifts for the homeless and prepare useful items for families in need.

Though this brief of an article cannot describe every aspect of Schneider’s life to the fullest, her affection towards loved ones and her writing, softball and music aspirations are just a few aspects of what makes Schneider an outstanding individual.
