Chapter 28: Logan Volkert
Although this student had to say goodbye to his wrestling career due to a broken back, his story is still something worth sharing. Logan Volkert is a senior here at Pleasant Valley. He is from Honolulu, Hawaii and has moved five times. Volkert entered the Pleasant Valley district at the start of eighth grade, and has enjoyed his time spent in Iowa. He especially enjoys, what he calls, the “super dope river.” As for the future, Logan plans on going to the University of Iowa to study business.
Now that Volkert has his future figured out and more time on his hands due to his injury, he’s been able to accomplish many things. Recently, Volkert just got $500 for winning a Call of Duty tournament, proudly being his biggest accomplishment. Along with intense gaming, Volkert now has time to spend with his two dogs, Theo and Ella.
Volkert recently has taken the position of being a manager for his friend’s rap career. Ben Leathers, a senior and dear friend of Volkert, has gained confidence and rapping skills with Logan by his side. The dynamic duo hopes to spread the word about Ben’s potential in the rapping world.
Volkert has nothing but sunny skies ahead of him! He has been optimistic, even with wrestling out of the picture. Time spent out of wrestling has directed Logan towards time for activities he deeply prizes. Volkert’s story is worth cherishing; even when things don’t go as planned, staying optimistic will provide an open door with endless opportunities!
