Chapter 33: Rachel Hunt
Rachel Hunt is a Pleasant Valley Senior this year. She is very passionate about anything art related, whether its drawing, painting, or sculpting, but painting is her favorite. It’s a given that Mrs. Peter’s AP art class is her favorite. This reason for this is, “because I can be creative and work on my artwork, and Mrs. Peters is my favorite teacher.”
She enjoys all aspects of art and her dream job would be an artist or graphic designer. She hopes to achieve her dream job by going to the University of Iowa and majoring in graphic design/art. She is inspired by two major artists Bob Ross and Tina Garrett. She thinks they are both wonderful artists with wonderfully caring personalities. Rachel was lucky enough to meet Tina Garrett, “and look in on one of her classes and she is so incredibly talented and kind.” It’s because of artists like Garrett that help her want to become a better artist herself and inspire her to continue her career in art.
Rachel is the president of the Art club. Within the art club many students get together and create new artwork to be displayed throughout the school. What she enjoys most about art club is that, “You get to see everyone’s creativity mesh together, and it’s usually a really calm environment.” She likes the calm environment because at sometimes she may seem shy but when she’s with her friends, she can be loud and lively.
She is very passionate about art and even has her own instagram page and website dedicated to it. If anyone is interested they may check it out at http://rachelhuntart.weebly.com or on instagram @rachelsketchbook.
