On Sept. 10, Apple held their yearly event in which the next generation of Apple products is released. This year’s upgrades include the iPhone 11, the  Apple Watch series five, the new iPad and an updated Apple TV subscription.

While the new iPhone looks visually similar, there are many striking improvements. Though the iPhone 11 looks similar to previous Apple phones,  it has a lot of differences that are new. The first upgrade is with the camera. The new phone has two lenses, the first is a standard camera, but the new wide lens camera has 120 degrees of view, so people are able to get more landscape in a picture. The new smartphone also has the “fastest processor ever with the A13 bionic” according to Apple CEO Tim Cook. Along with a better processor, iPhone 11 will have a longer battery life. This new phone starts at $599. The iPhone 11 Pro is similar to the iPhone 11, except with a fancier camera and a larger display. The camera on the Pro features 3 lenses, the wide, ultra-wide, and telephoto lense.

Apple also announced a series-five Apple Watch. Along with a faster processor and updated display, the new smart watch is more customizable as well. New wristbands come in different materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, titanium and ceramic. All watches can be put on any type of band, making the series-five watch the most customizable to date. Prices of the Apple watch can range from $399 to $749.

Another upgrade unleashed was their new TV and gaming subscriptions. Apple TV+ is a television subscription available on all Apple devices that can stream hundreds of movies and TV shows including Apple originals. This subscription costs $4.99 per month. Along with TV, Apple also released the Apple Arcade which is a subscription in which people can receive different games per month. Cook stated, “On the new processor, these games will be more vibrant than ever.” The Apple Arcade, identical to Apple TV+  will cost customers $4.99 per month.

Teacher Craig Parker is very excited about all the new Apple products. He said, “ I’ve been following Apple for four to five years, and rarely have I been disappointed.” Apple launched new products around September each year, and each one generates lots of publicity. The Apple company works diligently each year to put out quality products with new innovation, and the company hopes 2019 will bring the same excitement as years past.
