We all are humans

Just last week a German organization that saw itself as the “true religion” of Germany, became outlawed because the authorities accused the organization of recruiting jihadists to fight in Iraq and Syria. This led the officers to raid 190 Islamic Mosques in most of Germany’s 16 states. This decision comes after months of surveillance on the organization. It is said that about 140 members of the Islamic Mosques in Germany are known to have traveled to the Middle East to fight on the behalf of the Islamic State.

Does Germany have the right to take away people’s places of worship? We know not all Muslims in Germany want to go fight in the Middle East. What should they do now since they don’t have a safe place to practice their religion? The German government did what they did in order to keep everyone safe. They did it to stay one step ahead of terrorism, but it seems that they just forced them move to a different location. Terrorism will always be present unless a move is made to actually rid it from the country.

We live in a day where terrorism is something we have to live with every day. It’s truly a sad time seeing people hurting each other through bombs in public places or shootings, just for political or religious gain. No one wants to live like that and Germany is trying to take the proper steps to rid itself of terrorism.

I am Ryan Morrissey. I am now a senior and I have always lived in the Pleasant Valley school district. I enjoy sports but the only one I play is baseball. It is a full time commitment going practically year around. But when I’m not playing baseball or at school, I like to play video games shoot hoops in front of my house and hang out with my friends. A couple hobbies that I have are collecting baseball cards and all star game baseball hats. The reason I took honors journalism was because I like English but, I don’t like writing long extensive papers so this just seemed like a good fit.
