About the Contributors
Pranav Suresh, Arts & Entertainment Editor
Pranav Suresh is currently a senior at Pleasant Valley High School and is the Arts & Entertainment Editor for the Spartan Shield. He is a four year member of the Pleasant Valley Boys Cross Country team and Pleasant Valley Track team. Also a member of the school's inaugural Ethics Bowl team, Pranav recently traveled to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for the nationals competition. Always eager to give back, Pranav is a volunteer with World Relief and has spent the last couple summers helping refugee families. He teaches English, arts, sciences, and sports to these young kids. When Pranav has a couple of free hours between his busy schedule, you can find him working at Mathnasium or enjoying movies and music. An avid movie lover, you can check out his letterboxd and see what Pranav has to say for the 50 movies he watched this summer. When it comes to academics, Pranav is a mathematics enthusiast and also loves the social sciences. Pranav plans on doing economics and mathematics at an undecided university in the future, but for now he’s just excited to finish off his last year at Pleasant Valley!
Lydia Sommer, PV Only Editor
Lydia Sommer is a senior at Pleasant Valley High School. It is her first year working for the Spartan Shield and she serves as the PV Only Editor. While you may find her pursuing her passion in writing, you could also find Lydia doing her other passion: running. She competes on PV's cross country and track and field team as a four-time varsity runner, where she has run at the state level numerous times and is a highly decorated athlete. Besides running, Lydia is a devoted student who spends her time enjoying honors and AP classes and volunteering wherever help is needed. She also loves listening to music, watching movies, and sunsets. However, keeping a creative and sharp mind is something Lydia also thrives at; she frequently questions ideals and ponders the uncertainties of the world. Lydia is excited to bring her artistic ideas to the Spartan Shield this year!
