Taylor Swift fans around the United States are freaking out. On Nov. 1, 2022 Taylor Swift surprised her fans with the announcement of her Eras Tour. Swift’s last stadium tour was in 2018 for her album “Reputation.” Due to COVID-19, she canceled her “Lover Fest” Tour.
This tour drop was a surprise to say the least. Swift hinted at it on the Jimmy Fallon show, mentioning she needed to do another tour, as the artist had released multiple albums over the span of those 5 years— including “Lover,” “Folklore” and “Evermore.” Her newest album, “Midnights” released on Oct. 21, leading into her long-awaited tour announcement.
Swift announced her tour on social media, which caused fans across the country to rush to register for pre-sale tickets. “I’m enchanted to announce my next tour: Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour, a journey through the musical eras of my career (past and present!) The first leg of the tour will be in stadiums across the US, with international dates to be announced as soon as we can!”
Willa Samuelson, a junior at Pleasant Valley High school, expressed some of her experiences getting tickets.“The process is long and annoying, the software crashes quite a bit which is frustrating,” she said. “I am in a queue to get tickets, but I won’t be able to get them for a little bit.”
There is still time to sign up for tickets before they go on sale, fans have until Wednesday, Nov 9 at 11:59 pm Eastern time. Those who purchased tickets for the “Lover Fest” tour are also eligible to be part of the presale. They will need to sign up with the same Tickemaster account they used to buy “Lover Fest” tickets. If fans are lucky enough to get verified to purchase tickets the tickets range from $49 to $449.
The excitement to see Swift live is not just prevalent among students, but teachers as well.
One of these teachers who was absolutely enthralled hearing about this tour was PV social studies teacher and avid Swift fan, Erin Klage. “I love her music and I love her storytelling of all her eras. She has released multiple albums since her last tour so it’s going to be an amazing show!” she said.
