Kanye West’s resurging relevance?
Aspiring pop star Kanye West is slowly making an appearance once again after his social media and talk show meltdown on live TV.
Love him or despise him, most people recognize the name Kanye West as a talented musical artist and rapper, holding massive influence in the artist community.
However, he recently saw his fame crumbling around him when he made the decision to go on public TV and directly support the Nazi leader Adolf Hitler, going as far as to say “Well I see good things about Hitler also” on the Alex Jones public talk show Info Wars.
An offensive and reprehensible stunt like this should have had Kanye out of the music industry for good, and should have led to him losing all credibility and fame he earned in his career.
All of these things seemed to happen at first, with Kanye losing millions of dollars in partnerships with massive companies like Adidas, and most other partnerships like it. “I’m glad that piece of human trash got his fame ripped away from his fragile ego, I mean you can’t openly support Nazis and expect good things to happen” put by Kanye critic and aspiring educational leader Isabella Burkhart.
But contrary to what people like Burkhart expected, Kanye has been seeing resurgence in popularity once again, despite all of his previous actions.
This could be drawn to the continued support of his fans through all the controversy as many fans don’t really keep up with the rapper’s day to day life and simply enjoy his music. “I don’t really care about Kanye as a person he can do whatever he wants, but I just love vibing to his music” Junior Sean Murphy comments about the whole talk show meltdown situation.
With this continued support by his dedicated fans, it’s no surprise that Kanye was even invited to perform at the Circus Maximus in Rome for Travis Scott’s massive performance of Utopia.
If West can continue to make these horrible and demeaning statements and still see a rise in popularity and stardom, can celebrities simply do as they please now? “I really think it’s less about the person and more about what that person has to offer to the world in terms of music or artistic talent” Murphy replies on the Kanye situation as a whole.
Only time will tell if Kanye will make a true reemergence and possibly grow as a person and look back in regret of what he did, or maybe he will continue to be free of consequences no matter what he does.
