A new Dave & Buster’s opened Jan. 19, 2026, in Davenport, drawing families and friends in to celebrate the new entertainment center. The opening reflects a growing trend of businesses.
Other known entertainment centers, including TBK Sports Complex’s arcade and bowling alley, also attract frequent visitors in the area. Additionally, the Malibu Jack’s indoor theme park opened on April 5, 2024, offering activities, games and rides for children.
On its first day, Dave & Buster’s gave promotional rewards to the first 100 guests who entered the store. They received free games or Power Cards. The promotion was viewed as a success based on the large turnout.
Eighteen-year-old Pleasant Valley High School senior Vaibhav Gandikota visited Dave & Buster’s on opening day.
“It’s a fun place to spend time with friends, play some games, and eat,”Gandikota said. “I especially enjoyed the VR shooter game and the cyberpunk game which were pretty unique compared to other games I’ve seen in arcades. They were very immersive.”
The continued expansion of businesses such as Dave & Buster’s suggests that there is a strong demand for similar in person entertainment. Many use these places to have fun together with their friends and children. Arcades have been a valuable part of childhood for some in the Quad Cities and these places are apparently helping improve the atmosphere for children who love games and amusement.
Lots of students who haven’t yet been to the arcade plan on going sometime in the near future.
Senior Bradley Drechney speaks of his interest towards the arcade. “I’ve always heard about it from other people in other parts of the United States,” he said. “I’ve always wanted to check it out, and now that there’s one actually coming here, and it’s open, I really want to check it out.”
People are still interested in arcades, and others like Drechney have heard about the other locations of the popular Dave & Buster’s around 43 of the national states. After hearing about the new location in town, their curiosities are leading them there to spend a few hours in the new arcade.
The industry of indoor entertainment/amusement centers is continuing to grow due to rising levels of disposable income and evolving leisure preferences. The market size, according to Grand View Research, was valued at $54.73 Billion in 2025 and is projected to grow at a compounded annual rate of 10.9% through 2033.
Gandikota also shares his thoughts on why this growth is welcome.
“Places like Dave & Busters and TBK should absolutely stay open and continue running,” he said. “It provides an alternative option to hangout apart from the usual activities such as playing video games or driving around.”
By maintaining their relevance, local entertainment centers allow for the engagement and socialization of teens and adults. Dave & Buster’s is the most recent establishment in the Quad Cities that seems to be fulfilling that purpose for PV students.
