There are many band composers worthy of acclaim in the current generation who move audiences with high scores and music. Four of them have stood out to PV students.
1) Hans Zimmer
Marking brilliant scores in popular movies like Dune and Interstellar, his credibility is at an all-time high because of the success and audience admiration. Students in PV who listen to music hugely appreciate his technique and ability to engross the listener into the scenes and emotional conveyance for the piece it’s about.
2) Satoshi Yagisawa
One of the most favoured performances the Wind Symphony of PVHS plays is Machu Picchu, a city in the sky. The piece is composed by Yagisawa, and it contains elements that have compassion and acceleration.
3) John Philip Sousa
A famous march composer with national acclaim is quite a popular pick for the genre of music. There are few more recognizable than Sousa when it comes to his style and quality of joyous marches. Following a similar pattern with dogfights and other components, most can tell a Sousa piece just by listening.
4) Alex Shapiro
A great experimental artist whose music has touched many genres. Inspiring tunes, intelligent and unique melodies, this artist has made a lot of memorable compositions throughout their career.
