The power that comes with being famous allows one do a lot of things. Model Peyton Linafelter is an example of someone who is trying to make a difference in the world. Linafelter has always dreamed of being a model ever since she was a little girl. Finally, at the age of 15, she was given the chance to do what she once dreamed about: model.
Liafelter was at a concert when an agent approached her and asked her to be a model. Her career was just beginning when she received the worst news of her life. Linafelter was diagnosed with stage four ovarian cancer. According to foxnews.com, “Linafelter had thought this was some kind of mistake the doctors had made.” The doctors weren’t wrong, however. This is something the new teen model was going to have to deal with.
With all the pain and discomfort Linafelter had been having, it made sense that something serious was wrong. Linafelter had to make the best of this situation, and she started chemo the day after she found out. After trying her best to fight, Linafelter was declared cancer free on her 16th birthday.
According to today.com, Linafelter now speaks out about her journey. She said, “It was hard going through this process and knowing I was going to lose all of my hair. Then knowing I probably wouldn’t be able to be a model ever again.” Regardless, Linafelter is still a model today, and many look up to her as an inspiration. Many can find Linafelter on build boards for cancer awareness.
Linafelter isn’t the only one who is doing good with the power they have. It is becoming more of a trend to have super stars as the spokespersons for causes such as these.
