At a local Los Angeles coffee shop called Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, a muslim woman faced a hate speech against her by a white male who was standing in line in front of her. A video of this racist interaction went viral on Twitter and already has over one million views.

The video starts with the woman involved in the interaction asking the man standing in front of her in line to repeat a comment he made. He repeated to her “I said, is this halloween or something?” The woman continues to ask him why he would say that and if he knows she’s muslim. He proceeds to say “I don’t like it, how’s that? I don’t like that because I don’t like your religion. It says to kill me and I don’t want to be killed by you. How’s that?”

Following the man’s response, the two begin yelling at each other and arguing over religion, with the woman asking the man if he is scared of her and if he has read the Quran, to which he responds; “I’ve read enough of it to know.” The man can then be seen trying to distance himself from the woman and confrontation, repeatedly telling the woman to “back off.”

The woman then asks the man if he is Christian, to which he confirms, then she brought up a passage from the Bible that advocates killing non-believers. He then tells her he is done with the conversation because he doesn’t want to have any kind of conversation with idiots.

Then, the man goes up to pay for his coffee and the employee behind the counter asks him to leave and tells him she will not serve him because he is a racist. This was a completely inappropriate reaction from the man and I applaud the employee at the coffee shop for setting a good example and not tolerating racists.
