Chapter 7: Trent Vogele

Trent Vogele is a successful 12th grader with a promising future. Vogele was born in Fulton, Illinois and has also lived in Pella, Iowa prior to living in Bettendorf. He was raised in mainly Dutch communities, despite not being Dutch. The main impact his moving history has had on him is his affinity for Dutch letter cookies.

Vogele, like most people, loves vacationing in warm places and spending time in the sun. His favorite places to travel include Hawaii and the Bahamas. He’s no stranger to interesting plane rides. On the flight back from one of his vacations, Vogele woke up to find that he and the woman next to him had been sleeping on each other for several hours!

Vogele spent three years contributing his swim talents to the PV Boys Swim Team. He was also involved in student council for two years and is a member of the National Honor Society. All of these activities, in addition to Vogele’s exceptional grades, have helped him achieve admission into his dream college at his dream university.

Vogele was accepted to be directly admitted into the University of Iowa Tippie College of Business where he will get his MBA. After college, he sees himself becoming the CEO of a big company and making lots of money he can spend on tropical vacations.

As hard as Vogele has worked to achieve everything he’s accomplished, his life changed for the better once he realized grades aren’t everything. Finding a balance between work and rest has been his key to happiness and feeling more relaxed. This is a principle Trent will carry with him as he moves into the next chapter of his life.
