About the Contributors
Lena Ahrens, Social Media Manager
Lena Ahrens, 18, is a senior at Pleasant Valley High School and was born and raised in the Quad Cities. Ahrens enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She is also a huge fanatic of all dogs including her own beloved puppies, Sweetie, Baby, Robi, Alafair, and Clete. Ahrens is involved in many activities such as dance, track, and softball. If you know her well, you would see her having a dance party with her sister, Ella, or playing Minecraft with her brother, Lincoln. One of her passions is photography, which she dreams of possibly turning into a career working for National Geographic one day. Ahrens plans to attend University of Iowa in the fall and major in biology. A fun fact about Ahrens is that she loves dinosaurs and has seen the Jurassic Park movies over 100 times in her life. You might find her eating her favorite Whitey’s ice cream flavor, moose tracks, with her best friend, Morgan. Her hobbies include traveling, crafting, eating food, and playing with her dogs.
Morgan Ramirez, Photo Manager
Morgan Ramirez, a Senior at Pleasant Valley High School, is very committed to her athletics. Ramirez has been running track ever since 7th grade, and is still competing in the sport in to her Senior year. In fact, Ramirez’s biggest accomplishment is placing in the top 3 at the 2019 State Track and Field meet in 3 events. Not only does she run track, she also is a captain of the Pleasant Valley Spartans Cheerleading Squad. Ramirez has been cheerleading ever since she was 3 years old. She did Allstar cheerleading, and cheered for Iowa Elite through her Sophomore year, but has cheered for the Spartans since 7th grade. When Ramirez is not busy with her athletics, she is more than likely participating in her hobbies: eating whole pizzas, eating ice cream, and sleeping. Ramirez also loves to travel, listen to music, and spend time with her friends, family, and her dog, Nora Jane. After High School, Ramirez is planning on attending a University to major in either biology, or genetics. As of now, she plans on being an orthodontist in the future because she loves helping people, and has always wanted to go in to the dentistry field.
