TJ Brown, Copy Editor
TJ Brown is currently a senior at Pleasant Valley High School and a very active member in various activities for the Spartans. Brown is involved with the Spartan Shield Online, and has also played football and wrestled for the past 4 years, in which he was elected captain in both sports. Inside the walls of PVHS you can most likely find Brown doing what he enjoys most, practicing and learning about art. Outside of high school Brown enjoys going to the gym, playing sports, and spending time with his friends and some of his nine siblings. Brown can be described by his peers as incredibly ambitious, conscientious, and humble. Some fun facts about Brown is that he previously lived in the Philippines for a year and he was also homeschooled prior to 7th grade. Brown’s post high school plans are to attend Iowa and study Finance.
Jack Young, Photo Manager
Jack Young is a senior at Pleasant Valley High School and a member of the Spartan Shield Online. In school, Jack likes to learn about science. Outside of school, he enjoys hanging out with friends, watching movies, cooking, and playing sports. Jack has a great passion for baseball; as a captain of PV’s team in 2019, he helped lead the Spartans to Iowa’s state quarter-finals and earned both All-State and Academic All-State awards. Jack also excelled in football his senior year; even though he hadn’t set foot on the field since 2016, he led the team in tackles as a safety. After high school, Jack will continue his baseball career at Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois. At Parkland, he plans to study Kinesiology in order to pursue a career as a chiropractor.
