Now that Halloween is drawing near, people are looking for the scariest horror movies to get in the mood. While there are many great horror movies out there, there are also some great theatrical disasters of horror movies.
Whether someone’s trying to avoid a bad Halloween horror night or looking for the best horror movies to make fun of with friends, this list is full of movies that are truly scary- scary bad.
5. “Anaconda” (1997)
“My anaconda don’t want none” of this awful horror movie. Featuring acting legends Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube and Owen Wilson, this piece about a snake on a boat is hilariously bad. Although, if you suffer from Ophidiophobia (fear of snakes), then this movie might be a perfect Halloween fright.
4. “Troll 2” (1990)
Despite what the title may say, there are no trolls to be found anywhere in this motion picture masterpiece. Credited as the sequel to the also terrible 1986 movie “Troll”, “Troll 2” has no relation to the first movie except that it is just as bad.
Featuring garbage acting, an incoherent storyline and special effects that will make you sad for humanity, this movie should be approached as a work of the devil. Although, it has been consistently ranked as one of the funniest bad movies to watch. Maybe it is worth watching for a few laughs instead of screams.
3. “The Gingerdead Man” (2006)
There are just some movie ideas that should be burnt in a bonfire and never discussed again. “The Gingerdead Man” is one of those ideas. Whoever thought of turning a serial killer into a gingerbread man should be expelled from Hollywood-and maybe put in jail.
2. “The Wicker Man” (2006)
A remake of the 1973 movie, the 2006 version took anything that was good in the original and shoved it in a dumpster. In search of a missing girl, a detective played by Nicholas Cage arrives at a secluded island and finds that its residents have some dark rituals. While this may sound like an intriguing plot, the movie makes one wonder if cinema should exist at all.
Although, if you are a Nick Cage fan this movie is worth checking out as a reminder that Nick Cage will take any role offered to him. And honestly, that is kind of beautiful.
1. “Spooky Buddies” (2011)
These stupid dogs are not scary in the slightest. A movie disaster from the Air Buddy franchise, this movie will make you glad your dog does not talk. Honestly, by the end of this movie you will wish the ghost dog would disappear. These annoying dogs are not buddies at all, but instead demons sent to tortue you for one hour and 28 minutes.
This movie is a disaster on so many levels. One of the puppies even makes slightly racist jokes, which was scarily greenlit by a studio. If humanity were truly good, they would never have allowed “Spooky Buddies” to come into existence.
