Sometimes you are in desperate need of vanilla ice cream, whether you just found out there is a pie in the oven or you were the one who forgot you had to bring the root beer float to the party. You no longer have to live in fear of picking an inferior ice cream for I have solved this problem. I have tried five different ice creams and here are the best ones.
This test will be ranked on many different variables including texture, scoopability when fresh out of the freezer, flavor and smell. In between each ice cream I washed my mouth out with water.
- Deans Vanilla Bean
This ice cream is very easy to scoop and has a good vanilla smell. The taste is very strong and quite good. This ice cream is a great vanilla ice cream overall. 7/10.
- Kemps Old School Vanilla
This ice cream was quite disappointing, it was not super easy to scoop and it did not have much of a smell. On top of all of this, the taste was nothing like vanilla — it tasted like caramel ice cream which is not what I was looking for in a vanilla flavored test. 3/10
- Blue Bunny Homemade Vanilla
This ice cream was easy to scoop, but it was completely average exactly and what you would expect from a non-vanilla bean vanilla ice cream. 5/10.
- Haagen Daaz Vanilla
This ice cream was very hard to get into and it only smelt of the cardboard it was packaged in. That being said, it did taste quite good, but not quite as good as a vanilla bean based ice cream. 6/10.
- Blue Bunny Vanilla Bean
This ice cream is what many vanilla ice creams should strive to be… It scoops beautifully straight from the freezer and has a delicious scent of wonderful vanilla. Not only that, but the flavor is just as good. 9/10 (because it is possible that a genetically modified vanilla could possibly surpass it.)
