Driving around looking at Christmas lights is a festivity many families take part in. The Quad Cities has many different options this year for you to enjoy! Despite the ongoing pandemic, these light shows are created with your safety in mind, so don’t miss out.

  1. Ferjervary Holiday Lights is located at Ferjervary Learning Center in Davenport, Iowa near the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds. This light show is one you will not want to miss! From 5 pm to 9:30 pm, tune your radio to FM 107.5, and enjoy the display accompanied by festive holiday music all from within your vehicle.
  2. Kall Christmas Lights can also be found in Davenport, Iowa, on 1852 West Minster Circle. The lights can be seen from Nov. 28 to Dec. 31, from 5:30 pm to 10:30 pm. The home and surrounding trees are decorated with various lights and you can tune your radio to FM 107.1 to watch the show with music.
  3. QC Botanical Center provides a unique light show in Rock Island, Illinois. Winter Nights Winter Lights is an outdoor experience in the gardens of the botanical center. Mask up and walk around the gardens to experience some holiday cheer after purchasing your tickets for admission online.
  4. If you want a different approach to decorations for the holidays, Henry’s Christmas Yard is sure to meet your expectations. With a multitude of blow-up holiday decorations all over the yard, you indeed will find something new to look at every time you visit. Located at 1504 26th Ave Moline, IL, this attraction is one you must see this season.
  5. Oakbrook Place Lights in Bettendorf, Iowa, is another light display that is set to music. This one is a less traditional show and incorporates much more modern technology into the experience. The show includes trees, snowmen and a mailbox to Santa! Located at 18 Oakbrook Place, follow the signs in the neighborhood and watch from the right side of the road, and be sure to  tune your radio to FM 92.1.

This holiday season may feel different than others, but these light shows around the Quad Cities are sure to bring you more of the Christmas spirit!

Lily Barrett, 17, was born and raised in the Quad Cities. She is currently a senior at Pleasant Valley High School and the student life editor for The Spartan Shield. Her favorite school events to visit are baseball games and school dances. One of her favorite things to do is travel and she’s visited over 8 countries. Lily’s favorite country she’s visited was Italy because it inspired her to study abroad in college. Lily hopes to study medicine out of state next year. Outside of school, Lily enjoys spending time with her friends and family. In the past, she has tutored kids in spanish at The Family Museum and often babysits.
