Need some new ideas to travel this summer? Here are ten places to visit for your vacation.

Photos are constantly shared on Instagram from PV students leaving many thinking: where should my next photoshoot be? This list provides ten locations to pose for your next post on social media.

Downtown Davenport

One area in the Quad Cities that has become extremely popular recently would be Downtown Davenport. The modern buildings and vast area that this location covers presents a large amount of opportunities to take the perfect picture. This year and in previous years, many PV students chose to take their Senior pictures in Downtown Davenport, but the locations of those photos do not show the large selection of photo-ops available there.

Downtown LeClaire

With an old town atmosphere and riverside view, LeClaire offers many photo opportunities for the perfect Instagram post. Although it is a further drive from PV than the other destinations, LeClaire offers a unique background that transforms year-round. The Mississippi River mixed with the buildings and train tracks makes for a perfect place to take multiple pictures to post on your Instagram feed.

Coffee Shops

Many local coffee shops in the Quad Cities have cute aesthetics that work well for taking pictures. One local shop, 392 Caffe, in Davenport has a great interior design to use as a background for your newest post. The Quad Cities has a multitude of new coffee shops that might fit your Instagram page’s look and provide a different scenery than a lot of other locations on this list.

Cornfields

Being in Iowa leads to the opportunity of many country scenery pictures–from gravel roads to cornfields, the Quad Cities has its fair share of locations for this style of Instagram post. Fairly close to PV, the cornfield at the intersection of Forest Grove Drive and Devil’s Glen Road makes the perfect background for a summery, midwestern post. The only drawback to this location is the corn production only occurring in the summer months.

Wall in Davenport

Another well-known spot by PV students is the painted wall in Davenport. Although this is a smaller location, it still provides a nice background for your Instagram feed. With many of these walls popping up across the United States, the Quad Cities has provided a painted wall to use that is nearby.

Parking garages in Davenport

A new trend in the 2020-2021 winter season between Quad City students is the use of different parking garages as the newest photo-op. These locations in Davenport offer a wide variety of views and backgrounds to snap the perfect picture. They offer a blank canvas to show off your favorite outfit or create a cool aesthetic of your own.

Village of East Davenport

The Village of East Davenport offers a similar look as Downtown LeClaire but can fit different posts on Instagram. The Village has many buildings that provide interesting backgrounds. Fewer students have used this location making this a unique place to take your next photoshoot.

Parking Lots

Living in a medium populated area, there are plenty of parking lots across the QC that all offer different views and aesthetics for your next post. One opportunity that presents itself with this location is the ability to take pictures in your car. With the movement to make Instagram more informal, car photoshoots have been on the rise among PV students.

Parks

Another location for a good photoshoot is any of the local parks. Each park offers many different backgrounds that can suit your Instagram feed and allow you to express your creativity in many different ways. Some nearby parks would be Crow Creek Park, offering a wide variety of woodsy-style pictures, and Devil’s Glen Park, providing a view of the creek and many other spots within the park.

On the Mississippi River by the Figge Museum

Living near the Mississippi River provides a huge opportunity for many different pictures with the river as the background. This riverside location offers a great view of the Centennial Bridge. This location provides a more formal background that can be made informal as well; the plain background allows for this to be a great photoshoot spot year-round.
