This NBA season has been full of blockbuster trades, but it can be pretty difficult to keep up with them all with everything else going on right now. Luckily, this list will cover the five most impactful trades/signings in recent news.
- The Heat get Victor Oladipo
The Miami Heat traded guard Avery Bradley and center Kelly Olynyk to the Houston Rockets in exchange for Victor Oladipo. Oladipo has averaged 20.8 points, 5 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game with the Rockets before being traded. Another excellent Pat Riley trade for the heat, adding a young stud to the lineup.
- Vucevic to the Chicago Bulls
The Orlando Magic traded All-Star center Nikola Vucevic to the Chicago Bulls in exchange for Wendell Carter Junior, Otto Porter Junior, and two first-round picks. This was an excellent deal for the Bulls, considering Vucevic has been averaging 24.5 points and 11.8 rebounds this season while shooting 40.6% from the field.
- Norman Powell to Portland
The Portland Trail Blazers acquired Norman Powell from the Toronto Raptors in exchange for Gary Trent Junior and Rodney Hood. Powell has averaged 19.6 points and is shooting 43.9% from beyond the three point line. This is a great addition to the Trail Blazers roster, and should prove to be even better in the long run.
- Nets sign Blake Griffin
Blake Griffin has recently signed with the Brooklyn Nets following a buyout from the Detroit Pistons. The Nets signed the six time NBA All-Star using one of their veteran-minimum contract slots. This is an interesting addition to the Nets super team, and only time will tell if it helps the Nets make a championship run.
- Lakers sign Andre Drummond
The Los Angeles Lakers have signed veteran center Andre Drummond to a one year deal worth $794,536 to help make a postseason push in order to defend their title. Drummond has averaged 17.5 points and 13.5 rebounds in 25 games with the Cleveland Cavaliers this season. Drummond has not had much postseason experience in his career, but is sure to play a good amount of postseason minutes with the Lakers.
