- Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen
- Our top spot on the list goes to a so-called “sleeper pick”, Popeyes Louisiana Chicken. Located in Davenport almost 15 minutes away from PV, Popeyes is not always the most timely pick. However, what this restaurant loses in its location it makes up for with its cheap prices and excellent customer service. For only $13.99, customers can get 12 bone-in wings, a side of mashed potatoes or mac and cheese and a large fountain drink. In addition to the competitive $1.16/wing pricing (with sides) in the bone-in category, the restaurant offers a friendly and vibrant staff, who will guarantee every visit is a memorable one. Popeyes offers a multitude of flavors including Honey BBQ, Garlic Parmesan, Signature Hot, Ghost Pepper, and our personal favorite, Sweet ‘n Spicy.
- Wingstop
- Our runner up is Wingstop. Wingstop is about 25 minutes away from PV, but it is well worth the drive. Customers can purchase 15 wings for $10.50 which comes out to $0.7/wing. Wingstop offers 9 high quality flavors, on all areas of the spice spectrum. Along with the spectacular sauces, Wingstop offers many unique sides including 3 types of fries, coleslaw and, our favorite, the large mushroom fritters.
- Buffalo Wild Wings
- Buffalo Wild Wings finishes third on our podium. About 15 minutes away from PV, B-dubs is the most popular wing restaurant. With a whopping 26 sauces that include mango habanero, thai curry and more, Buffalo Wild Wings will satisfy all taste buds. This restaurant even includes the infamous Blazin’ challenge for those who dare. The high price of these wings push it down to third. Customers can purchase 10 wings for $13.49 ($1.34/wing). Buffalo Wild Wings also has a great aesthetic, making it the perfect place to catch the game with friends
- Foundry Food+Tap
- The Foundry Food+Tap falls just short of our top 3, with it offering some of what we believe to be the best wings in the QCA. Unlike the number one and two spots, the Foundry is local business, and therefore is on the pricier side. They charge for their bone-in wings and for their boneless wings, however both options come with a choice of four sauces and three rubs. We recommend getting the sticky asian sauce with the cajun dry rub, but almost all of the combinations are sufficiently flavorful. The customer service is satisfactory, although it is important to note at this time that we are not sure if they charge extra for more cups of ranch, which is definitely a factor when considering the price point of the Foundry.
- Pizza Hut
- Coming in at number 5 is Pizza Hut. Usually known for their pizza, the hut’s wings are overlooked, but just as good. With 10 different flavors, customers can purchase 16 wings for just $15.29 ($0.96/wing). These affordable wings can be a great side to pizza or just a stand alone meal. We recommend the lemon pepper dry rub, but every other flavor is a great choice. The quality of the wings at Pizza Hut are just as good as any other restaurant, and it is a great choice for wing lovers.
- It’s Just Wings
- At number six is a relatively unknown wing restaurant when compared to others on this list – since it’s not really a restaurant. It’s Just Wings is nestled inside the Chilis on 53rd street in Davenport, and despite being hard to find, still offers some decent wings for a huge price. The most popular bone-in wings combo includes fries and a drink along with 8 boneless wings (flavors including Nashville hot, mango habanero and sweet Chili zing) for a steep price of $2.00 per wing. Additionally, It’s Just Wings does also charge $0.75 per extra ranch cup, which only exacerbates the problems created by the already stiff pricing.
- The Filling Station
- The Filling Station, although a Quad Cities classic, claims the last spot on our ranking. The restaurant, which sits near Kimberly road in Davenport is well known for its American burgers and sandwiches, but not as much for its wings. It offers wings by the pound, and markets their “famous jumbo wings” (prices not listed). Most of their meals come with fries, though, which leaves the meal feeling quite dry. In addition, they do charge extra for ranch cups, which makes a dry meal even drier if you are on a budget. While the Filling Station is a great spot to go for a bite, we recommend trying the higher restaurants on our ranking first.
