1. Mean Girls
“Mean Girls” is the classic fall movie in every way. The film follows the journey of high schooler Cady Heron, and her integration into the typical American high school after living in Africa for several years. Set at the start of school, most of the movie explores fun fall activities and involves everything fall. Although the movie does explore seasons beyond fall, it exhibits the perfect fall vibes.
2. You’ve Got Mail
Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan star in “You’ve Got Mail,” a great movie to cuddle up with some popcorn and a blanket and experience all the emotions right alongside the characters. Meg Ryan’s character Kathleen Kelly absolutely hates Tom Hanks’ character of Joe Fox. The hate stems from Kathleen’s belief that Joe’s new bookstore put her out of business. All the while, both Joe and Kathleen are chatting online with one another, but they have no clue. The movie explores their journey from enemies, to whatever comes next.
3. How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
“How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” is considered a classic Rom-Com by many, while the seasonal setting is unclear, it fits the fall vibe perfectly. Andie Anderson, an advice columnist, sets out to create a piece on how to get a guy to break up with you in ten days. What she doesn’t know is that Ben Berry, an executive, is greatly confident in his ability to make a woman fall in love with him in ten days. The two battle it out in their contradictory quests. Although it’s unclear when exactly the movie is set, it’s a great fall watch.
4. Hocus Pocus
On the Halloween side of things, “Hocus Pocus” is an original Halloween watch. Tying together the spooky theme with the fall aesthetic, it is a great movie for those of all ages. The movie brings together a fun sense of Halloween while not going into the horror side of things, making it great for families, friends and adults alike. The story is based upon a coven of evil witches and their pursuit of keeping their book of spells away from teenager Max Dennison.
5. Friday Night Lights
Back on the high school side of things, “Friday Night Lights” adventures into the world of football in small-town Texas. The obsession this town has with the football team could be described as unhealthy, especially after their star player goes down due to injury. New coach Gary Gaines tries to navigate the challenges of his new role while simultaneously aiming to win football games without his star tailback. Not to mention to pressure the whole town lies on his shoulders. A perfect fall watch with a mix of sports, drama and fall vibes.
