This week on Dancing with the Stars they celebrated the 500th episode of the show. They started with a packed and exciting routine by the professionals featuring past professional Sharna Burgess. Each of the stars recreated a past dance to celebrate 500 episodes. Below are the scores I would have given each of the professionals for their recreation dances.
Joey and Jenna : 9
This was another solid dance as expected from Joey Grazeidei. However, I feel the dance lacked the emotional depth of the original performance. I also noticed a couple times his foot was not pointed throughout the dance; however, he still did a great job.
Dwight and Daniella: 7
Dwight Howard has not improved much throughout the competition. His recent dances, including this one, included more lifts than dance steps. There was not a lot to judge here as there was little dancing. However, Daniella Karagadsch choreographed this incredibly to hide Howard’s lack of steps and technique.
Chandler and Brandon: 10
This dance was very smooth and connected, but they also hit the different accents of the music. The turns were technically flawless, and she performed very difficult choreography at a very high level.
Danny and Whitney: 9
This dance was very well choreographed and very interesting. Their hold during the dance was very strong and I appreciated the creative side by side section. However, Danny Amendola had a misstep at the beginning of the dance, and I wish he emoted more during the dance.
Ilona and Alan: 9
This was by far Ilona Maher’s best dance yet. I thought her footwork and hold were much better than in previous weeks. It seemed like she was really enjoying the dance. However, it was not virtually flawless and didn’t necessarily have a wow factor that would make it a 10 for me.
Stephen and Rylee: 10
This dance was beautifully choreographed. You can tell that both Stephen Nedorosik and Rylee Arnold put a lot of hard work into this dance. They have implemented all of their judge critiques and there was a big difference this week in Nedorosik’s hold, timing, and overall musicality. This was a wonderful tribute to Mark Ballas and Charli D’Amelio’s prior waltz.
