As spring approaches and peoples gardens begin to bloom, butterflies are starting to make their journey back from the south. Butterflies are a staple piece of spring and add so much color and variety to peoples gardens. These creatures help our gardens and bring so much joy to many peoples lives.

2. Monarch butterflies
As one of the most classic butterflies these are a very traditionally seen in peoples gardens. As they begin their journey back to the north for the spring and summer many young elementary students await their arrival. With black and orange wings these butterflies help gardens in so many ways and are the most recognized butterfly world wide.
3. Glasswing Butterfly
These butterflies can be hard to spot due to their wings being clear, however they are a remarkable insect. Their clear wings give them the ability to camouflage easily in any environment. Sadly these butterflies are endangered as their main source of food is being eliminated due to pollution.
4. Peacock Butterfly
In a garden full of flowers, this species of butterfly is sure to be seen. As they can be around any time of the year, these butterflies love to fly around flowers. This species of butterfly is always multi-colored and has eye-ball looking spots in the corner of its wings, giving it the peacock name.
5. Papilio Palinurus
Traditionally found in Southeast Asia, these butterflies are vibrant in color. Their emerald green wings are sure to be remembered if seen in your garden if you can spot them. This species is also sometimes called a chameleon species because of their ability to camouflage into their surroundings.
