As the best superhero of all-time, many have tried to hop onto one of the most popular movie franchises of all time: Spider-Man. While every Spider-Man movie has been done beautifully, there are some that rise above the others. Below is what I believe is the superior ranking of these pieces of cinema.
- Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
This is an absolute cinematic masterpiece. Despite being an animated film, this movie’s plot is brilliant, and the animation is done so perfectly I can’t even describe it with words. Watching this movie is an experience and builds so well on the first movie in the series.
- Spider-Man: Homecoming
The first Spider-man movie to cast Tom Holland did not disappoint. Tom’s Peter Parker does an excellent job of balancing the witty high-schooler with the selfless and super cool Spider-man. This movie also gets bonus points for including Tony Stark’s Iron man as Peter’s mentor.
- Spider-Man 2
As one of the movies from the original series, Toby Maguire’s spider-man two is a great piece of cinema. Doc Oc is a great villain and builds great tension throughout the movie. The film is very well done.
- Spider-Man: Far from Home
Spider-man: Far from Home has a great plot and the acting is sensational. Unfortunately compared to Homecoming this film just isn’t as exciting, and the villain, being Mysterio, comes off very annoying.
- Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
The first Miles Morales spider-man movie did not disappoint. This movie was a great start to the in-progress spider-verse trilogy. This was a great movie all around, only coming in fifth due to the superiority of the other movies.
- Spider-man 1
As the first movie to come out, this film brings both nostalgia and significance to the entirety of all spider-man films. This movie is classic and Green Goblin as the villain gives for a great plot.
- Spider-man: No Way Home
The final film in the current Marvel spider-man trilogy was released amongst a mass amount of hype. By tying the spider-verse together by bringing back Toby’s and Andrew’s spider-man into the film, the movie had a chance to be fantastic. Unfortunately, with the unnecessary use of CGI and corny lines, this movie did not live up to the hype.
- Spider-man 3
This movie, although fairly well done, comes in on the lower end of the spider-man rankings. The concept of venom being introduced is cool, although the whole idea of peter parker turning into a jerk is not very fun. Because this movie is less enjoyable to watch, it is ranked lower.
- The Amazing Spider-Man 2
As the better of the two Andrew Garfield spider-man films, this movie earns the second to last spot on the list. The film is better than the first, but overall it does not match up to the others.
- The Amazing Spider-Man 1
Unfortunately Andrew Garfield’s spider-man just comes off as tacky. Although this is a great movie, it lacks the same allure that the others have to offer, and therefore is last on the list.
