If you are interested in trying something new, look no further! This is a list of the top food combinations that you may have never though of. These can be found in local grocery stores or fast food places and can make for a good snack or even meal. Whether you like sweet food, salty food, spicy food or a combination of these flavors, this list will have something you can choose from.
Popcorn and Hot Cheetos
At the top of this list is popcorn and Hot Cheetos. A mix between a spicy and salty food, it check all of the boxes for a satisfying movie snack, or even just a nice midday salty treat. It is similar to adding seasoning to popcorn, but you get the additional crunch of the Hot Cheetos along with the butteriness of the popcorn. The best way to prepare this is by adding the popcorn followed by the Hot Cheetos to ensure that the Cheetos are evenly mixed with the popcorn and don’t sink to the bottom of the bowl. If you hate the feel of cheeto dust on your fingers, I recommend using chopsticks to eat this delicious food combination.
French fries and Caesar salad
Next is a food combination commonly coined as a “girl dinner” and can be paired with a crisp diet coke: french fries and Caesar salad. While french fries by themselves may be too greasy and a salad too tasteless, the combination of them creates a satisfying meal. The Caesar salad dressing pairs well with fresh greens, but it also makes for a great sauce for some crispy fries. To ensure that the fries stay crispy, I recommend either eating them on the side at the same time as the salad or mixing them in shortly before you eat them.
Dates with peanut butter
If you are craving a sweet treat with a hint of a nutty kick, this is the perfect snack for you. Not only does this snack make you feel full, but dates and peanut butter promote digestion, are a good source of energy, and improve heart health. To eat this delicious snack, simply take the pit of the date out and fill it with your favorite type of peanut butter. If opting for smooth peanut butter, I would recommend adding an almond for an extra crunch or even dipping the snack in chocolate for an extra layer of sweetness.
Ritz crackers and cream cheese
Next is a food combination that is a great after school snack. Ritz crackers and cream cheese combines a salty, crunchy cracker with a smooth cheese that helps cut through the saltiness of the cracker. It’s both a refreshing and delicious snack. While Ritz crackers are the optimal choice, any snacking cracker can work. As for cream cheese, I recommend getting a spreadable cheese, and my personal favorite is the plain cheese from Laughing Cow. Making this snack is also very easy and low effort. Simply just spread the cheese on top of the cracker and enjoy as is.
Cheese and jam
Finally, if you are feeling fancy or making a charcuterie board, one of the best combinations is cheese and jam. The great thing about this combination is that there is versatility. If you enjoy strong flavors, strong cheese and jam flavors, such as a blue cheese and blackberry jam, may be your forte. However, milder cheese flavors and preserves rather than jams also pair well together. For example, pecorino cheese and apricot preserves pair very well together. Even when you aren’t feeling fancy, this combination is great to eat just for fun. Simply spread your jam or preserves on the cheese and you’re set.
