With no other shows of its kind, dinosaur train is educational in a specific topic, making it very engaging. Kids can learn about dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures through this fun show. It caters perfectly to the dinosaur phase that so many kids go through growing up.

This show has an engaging superhero plot for younger kids and education for older. Word Girl teaches new vocabulary through her adventures saving the small town. Wild Kratts is a shared show across generations. It has been on air for 14 years and is still making new content for PBS kids. The concept of this show is unique and pulls in viewers. A talking dog who teaches people about words and the world around them provides educational opportunities and entertainment. This one is particularly enjoyed by older children audiences.
- Fetch! With Ruff Ruffman
While no longer on air, this reality competition TV show made for kids was great for older audiences. Student contestants would be given a challenge, learn about the process and then compete against other teams to see who was best able to complete the challenge. The game show style made this show different from others and allowed kids the opportunity to participate in entertainment similar to shows parents enjoy.
- Odd Squad
This TV series is also different from other kids shows in that it is live action. Kids running a spy agency is a genius way to take a plot enjoyed by all and give it a spin for children. “Odd Squad” teaches math skills which help kids see the real world implications of what they learn in school.

Arthur is especially interesting as it is more focused on social and emotional learning. Viewers follow this character on his adventures with friends and family and show children how to interact with others in kind ways. Watching Arthur’s life is similar to that of book characters such as the “Berenstain Bears” and “Franklin.”
