As a runner, food means a lot to me. I eat more food than anyone else I know and I know how to appreciate it and its exceptional awesomeness. Below I have carefully ranked the top fruits, a key part of any athlete’s diet.
1. Banana
Bananas are the most elite fruit of all time. They are superior in every way, from the texture and taste, to the simplicity and convenience. I will never say no to a banana, and you should not either. They are the closest thing to perfection on the earth.
2. Avocado
A great source of fiber. A great source of healthy fats. Avocados are beautiful inside and out. This fruit takes the spot at number two on the list. I love avocados on toast before a run, or mixed with some protein for post run fuel.
3. Watermelon
Watermelon after a run or workout during the summer is one of the most beautiful things a human can experience. This fruit is great because not only does it fuel you, but it also hydrates you. Only eat watermelon if you are prepared for the amazing explosion of flavor in your mouth.
4. Pineapple
Similar to watermelon, pineapple is great for after a run. It is sweet and very refreshing. Pineapple is a fantastic snack, the only drawback being that it will disintegrate your mouth if you eat too much.
5. Grapes
Last but not least is grapes, specifically green ones. Green crunchy grapes are a delicacy in my opinion, as they are very tasty and refreshing. Grapes may not have the same allure as the other fruits on this list, but their snackability and taste still make them a deserving fruit to be on this ranking.
