Arguably the best soccer team of all time, Real Madrid has hit its prime several times over the last century. Though it is difficult to define which one of these teams is the best one, some certainly stand out. Here are some of the best:
4. Real Madrid 2023/2024
Arguably the best squad for Real Madrid since Cristianio Ronaldo’s departure from the club, this Real Madrid team was rock-solid in almost every position. Bellingham’s arrival as the dominant goal-scorer combined with Vini’s skills and Kroos’ passing ability made for the perfect team. They won the LaLiga with 95 points, losing only one game throughout the 38-game campaign. They also won the Champions League, beating out both Manchester City and Bayern Munchin in the process.
3. Real Madrid 2013/2014
In Carlo Ancelotti’s first stint as Madrid coach, he led the team to both a LaLiga and Champions League win. This was the first time Madrid had won the Champions League in 12 years, marking the beginning of a legendary era for the club, during which they would win a combined total of 5 more titles over the following ten years.
2. Real Madrid 2011/2012
During this season, Real Madrid was two years into the Cristiano Ronaldo era. Their Galactico-ridden team, coached by Joseph Mourinho was truly in full swing. Though they did not win any international trophies (UCL), they dominated their domestic league. They went 34-4-2 over the course of the season, earning 100 points and scoring 121 goals – the highest in history.
1. Real Madrid 2016/2017
Not only did Real Madid win the Champions League for the second consecutive year, but they also won LaLiga with 93 points and 106 goals scored. Their front three – Cristiano Ronald, Bale and Benzeama- were completely unstoppable, scoring a combined total of 110 goals in all competitions. Furthermore, the midfield quartet of Isco, Kroos, Modric and Casemiro behind them set the tone of every game in their innovative passing and creative plays.
