The Grammys are widely known as the most prestigious award show in music. This year, many talented artists dropped singles and albums that took over the charts and impacted pop culture. Well-known artists such as Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga are among the many artists nominated for the most prominent awards. Here are the award winners for the top three categories, and why they were the most deserving contenders.
- Album of the Year- DeBí TiRAR MáS FOToS by Bad Bunny
Bad Bunny was crowned the most-streamed artist globally in 2025, and his historically successful album DeBí TiRAR MáS FOToS climbed to the number one spot on the Billboard 200. But, the album’s success on the stat sheet should not overshadow its remarkable craftsmanship. This 17-track album is layered with nuance and sends a powerful message against the colonial oppression, displacement and gentrification of Puerto Rico. The album encourages the preservation of Puerto Rican culture with a perfect blend of reggaeton and salsa. DeBí TiRAR MáS FOToS undeniably deserves to be the first non-English Album of the Year.
- Song of the Year- Wildflower by Billie Eilish
Billie Eilish’s “Wildflower” is the fourth single off her hit album Hit Me Hard and Soft. The song is a soft ballad that explores themes of insecurities and loneliness in relationships. Eilish utilizes her captivating storytelling skills and signature breathy vocals to create a masterpiece of a song that reached 1.9 billion streams on Spotify. The song displays excellent songwriting and certainly deserved this award.
- Best New Artist- Olivia Dean
This category was certainly one of the most disputed on social media in the days after the award show. Many viewers protested that either Addison Rae or Katseye was more deserving of the Best New Artist title. However, Olivia Dean had a great year in 2025, releasing her sophomore album The Art of Loving, and gaining popularity from her hit single “Man I Need.” Both the album and the single hit number one on the Official Chart in the same week. Dean has created a unique sound that separates her from mainstream pop music. She offers the music industry a fresh style that is both uplifting and soothing by blending her incredible vocals with jazzy instrumentals and complex lyricism. There is no one that deserved this award more than Olivia Dean.
