As “America’s Game”, football has created a strong fan culture for both college and the NFL. During the fall, millions of Americans tune in on Saturdays and Sundays to watch their favorite teams.
At the end of every February, Indianapolis’ Lucas Oil Stadium hosts all NFL draft prospects in a four-day-long combine. Athletes are tested on their speed, agility and strength, as well as skills specific to their positions. The combine presents prospects with the perfect opportunity to showcase both their talent and athleticism.
Then, in April, Pittsburgh will host the annual seven-round draft, where the 32 NFL teams take turns picking players from college teams. The 2026 NFL draft is filled with many talented prospects, but only seven have risen to the top of the NFL’s radar.
- Fernando Mendoza, Indiana- Coming off of a perfect season, with an overall record of 16-0, a national title and the Heisman trophy, all eyes are on quarterback Fernando Mendoza. Mendoza has certainly proved himself to be a winner, and is projected to go number one overall to the Las Vegas Raiders.
- Jeremiyah Love, Notre Dame- With 6.9 yards per carry, 21 total touchdowns, and 1,652 total yards on the season, running back Jeremiyah Love has solidified himself as a consistent producer. Paired with his 4.36s 40 yd dash speed and his elite playmaking ability, Love is undoubtedly the top RB in the draft.
- Caleb Downs, Ohio State- Showcasing impressive tackling skills, a great football IQ, and lockdown coverage, safety Caleb Downs is widely known as the best defensive player in college football. In 2025, Downs won the Jim Thorpe Award for best defensive back, and in 2024/2025, he was a unanimous All-American. As a great addition, Downs will elevate any NFL defense.
- Rueben Bain Jr., Miami- Leading all FBS players with 83 pressures in the 2025 season, Rueben Bain Jr is a monster of an edge rusher. Bain has a powerful bull rush and high motor, perfect for terrorizing offensive lines and obliterating quarterbacks.
- Arvell Reese, Ohio State- Linebacker and edge Arvell Reese displays rare speed to size ratios, with a 4.46s 40yd dash time at 241 pounds. Reese also offers convenient versatility, with his ability to play both LB and edge extraordinarily well, making him a top prospect.
- Jordyn Tyson, Arizona State- With an incredible ability to gain separation paired with his dangerous ability to create after the catch, wide receiver Jordyn Tyson is the best available WR in the draft. Tyson has an excellent acceleration which complements his ability to stretch the field, and will pose a major threat to NFL defenses.
