- Ross Geller
Ross Geller is by far the worst character in the tv show. His perspective on he and Rachel’s breakup completely disregards the trust they had for one another. He was driven by jealousy and a lack of personality, not to mention he always projected his insecurities onto everyone else.
- Phoebe Buffay
Though she starts off as a whimsical addition to the crew, she loses more of her common sense as the series progresses. This comes to a point where her whimsy is more annoying than it is funny. In spite of that, she was still a better character than Ross.
- Joey Tribbiani
Joey is the perfect character for comedic relief. He also demonstrates time and again that he truly cares about his friends and, specifically, his best friend and roommate Chandler. Though he becomes increasingly stupid as the series progresses, he never loses his caring nature.
- Rachel Green
Rachel Green demonstrates that everyone has the potential to grow, if surrounded by the right people. Much like Joey she constantly shows care and compassion for her friends and often puts them before herself.
- Monica Geller
Monica is very clearly the “mom” of the group, not just in a physical, organizational sense, but also in an emotional sense. She keeps the group orderly and pushes people to be the best versions of themselves.
- Chandler Bing
Arguably the funniest character in the show, Chandler provides the best wit out of all the characters. His whimsical personality creates a character that always brightens the mood when he’s on screen and makes the show what it is.
