Senior year is full of new and exciting things like grad party planning and senior skip day, but as senior year comes to a close, many Pleasant Valley students are starting to finalize their post high school plans. From deciding on a college, to picking a roommate, the logistics of being a graduating senior are numerous.
Many students are expanding their horizons by going out of state for college, but many other students are choosing to stay in state to further their academic careers. Whether in state or out of state, a student’s major is the most important aspect of college. here is a run-down of where Pleasant Valley seniors are choosing to go to school:
Seth Moffitt will be attending the University of Iowa next fall. “I will be studying health informatics because it combines my interest in health care with my desire to work in a computer science health field.”
Elissa Hennings will be attending the University of Iowa next fall. “I will be studying accounting because my dad convinced me it will be a staple job and an area that will provide the best job opportunities.”
Michael Showers will be attending St. Ambrose University next fall. “I plan on majoring in business management with a minor in marketing because I hope to own my own business in the future.”
Katie Morrissey will be attending the University of Northern Iowa next fall. “I will be studying elementary education because I enjoy working with young kids and I like seeing the light bulb go off in their heads when they learn something new.”
Maggie Cory will be attending the University of Oregon next fall. “I plan on studying psychology with a minor in arabic studies in order to pursue a job in the FBI.”
Andrew Wendel will be attending the University of Iowa next fall. “I will be studying genetics and criminology in hopes of working as a forensics lab technician in the future.”
Carson Sutherland will be attending the University of Dubuque next fall. “I want to study computer information technology with a minor in math because I like problem solving.”
As these students and the rest of the senior class anticipate graduation, they also have their future academic careers to look forward to. Whether attending an in state or out of state school, or studying science or math, seniors have the rest of their lives to look forward to after walking across the stage in their caps and gowns.
