Drugstore makeup can seem overwhelming. There are tons of different brands with little assistance as to which ones are the best; however, there are many benefits of buying drugstore products. Drugstore products are very accessible and inexpensive. The makeup can be purchased at Walgreens, Walmart, and even the drugstore section of Ulta. This is a good place to start for those that are just getting into makeup. The products listed below will not disappoint.

  1. Setting spray allows makeup to last all day and keeps foundation from looking cakey.

Buy: NYX Makeup Setting Spray Matte for $8.00

  1. Concealer helps cover acne, redness, and dark circles. It can be used to highlight specific areas of the face such as the center of the forehead, bridge of the nose, top of cheekbones, cupid’s bow, and chin.

Buy: Wet n’ Wild Photo Focus Concealer for $3.99

  1. Blush is used to add warmth and depth to the face. Blush should be applied from the apples of the cheeks towards the temples. “This is my favorite drugstore blush ever. Everyone loves this blush for a reason. It gives a beautiful glow to the skin. I can wear this with very minimal makeup and look refreshed and awake,” Beauty youtuber, Kathleen Lights, said.

Buy: Milani Baked Blush Luminoso for $6.99

  1. Primer is used as a base for foundation. It allows makeup to go on smoother and last longer.

Buy: Rimmel Stay Matte Primer for $6.47

  1. Lipstick adds color to the lips and makes them stand out. Senior, Olivia Nelson, said, “NYX has the best liquid lipsticks. I have almost every color of the Lingerie Liquid Lipsticks.”

Buy: NYX Lingerie Liquid Lipstick in Bedtime Flirt for $7.00

  1. Highlighter will give the face the perfect glow.

Buy: Milani Strobelight Instant Glow for $9.99

  1. Eyeshadows are used to make the eyes pop. Colourpop is a very cheap, online brand that sells singlet eyeshadows for only $5.00 a shadow.

Buy these popular shadows: Note to Self, Paper Tiger, Bel Air, Liar Liar, and Wake up Call

  1. Mascara is used to add volume and length to eyelashes. Often, drugstore mascara is always better than high end brands. Quad Cities makeup artist, Janie Blount, said, “I like L’oreal products a lot. They are high quality.”

Buy: L’oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise for $8.99

  1. Foundation helps cover up up flaws and blemishes.

Buy: L’oreal Paris Infallible Pro Glow helps achieve a dewy, hydrating look. This foundation is best for normal to dry skin.

Buy: Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless Foundation, helps control shine and blurs pores. This foundation is best for normal to oily skin.

  1. Bronzer is used to sculpt the face. It should be applied around the forehead, jawline, and the indents of the cheeks.

Buy: Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer Murumuru Butter Bronzer for $14.95

With these products you can save money and still look great. Drugstore makeup can help you achieve the look and confidence you are going for, while staying within a reasonable price range.

This is so helpful! This is a nice guide for people who don’t want to overspend on makeup and need a little background on the products they’re looking for.
