Arissa Khan, Opinion Editor
Arissa Khan is a senior at Pleasant Valley High School and is currently serving as the Opinion Editor of the Spartan Shield. During her four years in high school, she has participated and been involved in numerous extracurricular and academic activities, including International Thespian Society, numerous clubs, and a rigorous class schedule. She enjoys learning, and some of her favorite classes have been AP Physics II and AP US Government and Politics. Arissa served as the Iowa Thespian Advocacy Officer, founded and leads the Pleasant Valley Muslim Student Association, is a competing member of Ethic’s Bowl, has served on PV Spartan Drama’s student board, and is an avid member of astronomy club. Alongside clubs and academics, Arissa is currently working on completing her AP 2D Art portfolio, of which one of her pieces won an award and scholarship at the 45th Annual High School Arts Invitational. Her free time is spent hanging out with friends, cooking new foods, and hunting for old books. Arissa is looking forward to writing for the Spartan Shield and working with the rest of the awesome staff.
