‘Tis the season for the Spartan boys swimmers to kick into full gear for their season. The team is fresh and ready to show off a strong first meet this Tuesday. The Spartans will take on the City High Little Hawks.
The team’s depth will be put to a test since it is a new season with different athletes from the past year. The boys feel this year will be a memorable one, “This year will be an unforgettable season, I can feel it,” states Kyle Stoddard, junior. The majority of the team consists of seniors who will be missed next year. The younger swimmers have large shoes to fill after this season.
The team has been successful the past few years, but they are still not fulfilled with those achievements. The boys are hungry for titles and records. This year will prove how much the team really wants the sensation of victory.
The coaches are determined to push their athletes to their full potential. Stoddard boasts about the dedication of his coach, “Coach Stacy always pushes us to do our best no matter how exhausted we are.” A healthy athlete-to-coach relationship improves the team’s ability to compete in difficult situations. The Spartans respect their coaches suggestions and trust they are with them 100 percent of the time.
The Little Hawks will test their pre-season jitters in most of the events. The long nights of swimming are here and the boys want all the support they can get; especially the seniors.
“We hope to have some PV support at our first home meet.” Stoddard includes, along with the entire swim team.
Come out and support the Spartans as they begin their long journey of conquering goals and records!
