Q: What instruments do you play and how long have you played them?
A: Violin and piano, 6 and 11 years
Q: What style/genre of music do you enjoy playing most?
A: Classical music – typically from the romantic period, but Russian music is fun as well.
Q:What inspires you to continue playing?
A:Music has been a part of my life from the very beginning, so I can’t do without it. But when I play, I get in this zone and it feels great.
Q:How often do you practice?
A: Less than I should. Piano, probably 1 hour a week, and violin, about 15 minutes per day or longer when I get the chance.
Q: What are accomplishments or moments of which you are most proud of throughout your musical career?
A: The feeling of knowing you’ve gotten into All-State is probably the highlight of my “musical career.” I don’t know if I’ve ever been that excited. But generally, the relief musicians get after a concert is great too.
Q:Will you pursue music in the future?
A: I will continue playing and continue with music, but I’m not planning on doing it professionally.
