PV Seniors starting brainstorming ideas for the Class of 2022 prank.

As a senior, there is only one thing many look forward to — graduation, but before students can graduate there are many “lasts” to go through. With senior prom and ditch day recently occurring, there is only one monumental moment for seniors before graduation. The final event that makes leaving high school real is a senior prank. These pranks tend to be creative, funny and a bit disruptive as seniors say goodbye to the school that has prepared them for the future. With senior pranks happening every year with a different class, it is only natural for each class wanting to outdo another, but it can be difficult to think of a unique idea that their class will forever be known for. As hard as it may seem, here are a few pranks that have stood out in high schools across the nation.

Alarm Clock Frenzy

No one enjoys waking up in the morning, especially by an outrageously loud and annoying alarm clock. The constant buzzing and ringing is enough to annoy anyone, no matter how tired or awake they are. Although it can be quick to turn the alarm off with a simple press of a button, what happens when one is unable to find their clock? The straightforward answer is that it continues to ring until it is found. High school seniors used this information to create one of the most annoying and never ending pranks. Seniors brought in countless kitchen clocks and hid them around different parts of the school, all for different times, making them difficult to find and even harder to know when they would go off.

Bottled Goldfish

Many kids grew up with their own fish that they were in charge of caring for and feeding, but more than likely, the goldfish would not last longer than a week. Still, even with numerous fish dying, many kids continued to buy the classic goldfish in a bag of water from their local pet store. Now, instead of having to travel to a pet store, these high school seniors brought the pet store to them. By placing a fish into every water bottle in the school, students would be forced to buy water with a free fish inside.

String Maze

The difficulty of finishing any maze is not knowing which turn could lead to a dead end, especially when the end is not visible. A simple yet challenging senior prank many overlook is the humor and trouble a school maze can be. By weaving balls of yarn and fishing wire around the school, going under desks, over chairs and into lockers, it can make walking the halls to get to class a more time-consuming affair. Students will not know whether or not to walk through it or around it, while school staff is unaware of where to start the clean up.

Balloon Barricade

No matter how old someone is, they are never too old to play with balloons. The bright colors, static electricity and floatability makes them enjoyable for any age, until they are popped. The loud noise of the popping, along with the mess of cleaning up the broken balloon makes it easy for any adult to reject the idea of balloons at celebrations. Although, the fun mixed with the messiness of balloons makes a perfect senior prank. The process of blowing up hundreds of balloons may seem taxing at first, but with enough people, it will go quickly. By filling up almost every hallway of the school with balloons, students will be unable to efficiently get to class without popping one, or five. It will bring back the memories of being a child, while creating complete chaos around the school.

Caution, Crime Ahead

Everyone who has seen a crime-related show knows that when a crime has been committed it has to be closed off for inspection. There tends to be evidence everywhere with notes of clues surrounding the crime. But what would happen if there was a crime scene in the middle of the busiest school hallway? High school seniors wanted to create a prank that would be unique, make people laugh and cause a little chaos. They were able to transform the hallway into an extensive crime scene with a body outline, crime scene tape, numbered cards and props all to create a believable yet humorous prank.

The minute a student steps into high school their first thought is “When can I leave?” but they are unaware of how fast time goes by. As seniors come to the close of their final month in high school, many want to relive the events they will no longer experience and make the most of their final weeks. The tradition of a senior prank is for the entire class to come together as one and create a memory that will last a lifetime, wherever the world leads them.
