My two cents: End the 2016 Trend

You never asked for my opinion on the not-so-trendy trends of 2016, but I’m going to let y’all know.

I’m desperately hoping we can leave the 2016 trends in 2016, but I don’t see that going in my favor. The treacherous trends like the bottle flip, the dab, and, while the mannequin challenge didn’t bother me, I do believe there are better things to do with your time. The ultimate trend that needs to die is vaping. Seriously guys, it’s time to give that up.

Gentlemen, the vaping has got to go. To start off, I’m not sure where you all got the notion that it is “way better than smoking cigarettes,” but I’ll be the first to let you know, it is not. In fact, I’d say it is a “gateway smoke” perhaps, because sooner or later, that nicotine buzz will need to be amped up a notch. Beyond the health factors, I am sick of getting weird smelling smoke blown in my face or around my breathing area. Yes, I have a right to have my own breathing area, and I do not need it filled with the smell of Frankenvape or Purple Pie Man. Put the vape down, dude.

These trends are not only a waste of time, but they could not get any more annoying. I do not want to listen to a half-empty water bottle hit a desk 200 times while you miserably try to get it to stand up. More often than not, you are going to fail. On top of that madness, I do not want to see you dab when you do happen to land the bottle… or any other time for that matter. Flailing your arms to your forehead in celebration just makes you look like you are having a muscle spasm. It does not look cool. The mannequin challenge? What’s the point? I honestly cannot fathom having enough free time to spend standing still while someone records it for no reason at all. Sorry, but I can’t jump on that bandwagon either.

As much as it may seem like I have hated every trend of 2016, I have not. I have been loving the fashion trends such as faux fur, satin, velvet, and even the space buns. I am glad we were broadening our style horizons last year.

I hope none of you thought I was going to start off this year on a very light and positive note. Believe me, my New Year’s Resolution was not to come back as a nicer or less opinionated version of myself… In fact, I could give you my opinions on New Year’s Resolutions as well, but for now I will keep it at that.

I completely agree don’t forget about the running man challenge earlier in the year. Sad how some kids can’t even go an entire school day without having to sneak off to the bathroom for a “chuck” .
