Everyone has their own interests, some being a little more peculiar than others. The thought of using rocks to make a goal come to life seems impractical, but a shop of divination in the Quad Cities can make this a possibility.

Little Rock and Gem Shop originated in 1995 in Downtown Davenport. The shop sells crystals, chakra kits, tarot cards, handmade beaded jewelry and more. The purpose of the shop is to reach out to those who wish to further their intuition.

Manifestation, divination and meditation practices have become increasingly popular in recent years. Millennials and Gen-Z have found themselves infatuated by the capabilities the belongings in the store can hold. With enough practice, using certain crystals which obtain particular meanings can enhance one’s life. Those practicing manifestation may get what they wish through manifestation.

To tune into one’s third eye, owning crystals is a necessity. It is believed that by cleansing crystals with incense, charging them in the sun, and meditating with them can make one’s endeavors successful.

An avid spiritual individual, Kelsi Gill, practices with crystals. “I have made several purchases at Little Rock and Gem Shop. I own almost thirty crystals from there,” she said. “When times get rough, I remember I have my crystals. I set my intentions with them, which are basically things that I want in my life. With enough practice, I’m able to manifest great things into my life. It can be small things, like improving my grades, or even bigger, like making new friends,” Gill concluded.

Little Rock and Gem Shop is the hub for Quad City crystal lovers. The atmosphere of the shop feels uplifting and rejuvenating, as shelves of beautiful stones and accessories are stacked upon each other.

For small businesses, it is a necessity to have a very welcoming environment and helpful employees, which is exactly what Little Rock and Gem Shop provides. Upon entrance, customers are immediately greeted and asked if they need any help. A worker is willing to spend an ample amount of time with just one customer, helping them find the materials most beneficial to them. When looking to further one’s intuition, it’s good to have informed and welcoming helpers guide the way. This is what makes Little Rock and Gem Shop so special.

Whether someone believes in these kinds of things or not, making a visit to Little Rock and Gem Shop will always be worthwhile. No other store gives the inviting or inspirational experience the shop provides, and the belongings which can be found in the store are worth purchasing.

Caity Burke is a member of the 2023 class of Pleasant Valley, working as the Social Media Manager for the Spartan Shield. After school hours, you can find her working as a barista at Atomic Coffee Bar, or cheering on the sidelines at football games. Burke has been cheering since age 4 competitively, and now for our very own Spartans! Caity is a 3x All American Cheerleader, and is often recognized for her positive attitude and leadership at practices. She hopes to continue her cheerleading career in college, while studying forensic psychology at Arizona State University. Once her cheer shoes have become unlaced, Caity is typically diving into her favorite fictional books, painting for her AP art portfolio, or spending quality time with those she holds close. Caity loves the simple pleasures of sniffing candles, sitting in the rain, admiring flowers, watching the sunrise, and designing fashionable outfits. Ideally, she would like to spend her future exploring Europe with her dogs, but sitting back and watching The Notebook, or reading the Harry Potter series is cool too. Although Slytherins are known to be mischievous and cruel, Caitys peers would describe her as a bright and positive young girl, always flashing her smile. Perhaps she should retake the Hogwarts House quiz.
