Web browsers are tools that most people use every day and are essential in many ways. There are so many choices, so here are the top web browsers.
- Honorable Mention: Ladybird Browser
- Ladybird browser is an open source browser that is currently in development in a pre-alpha state. Its intent is to be a browser now built with little of the current browser technology. Once it is fully released, it will surely be a popular browser.
- #5: Google Chrome
- Google Chrome is the original browser to be built on the Chromium browser framework. Google chrome is also one of the first browsers to support the newest web standards, but lacks some features compared to the other browsers on this list.
- #4 Brave Browser
- Brave is another browser built on the Chromium browser engine. The biggest feature it provides over Google Chrome is its built-in ad blocker. This feature has become more important recently after the Chromium browser engine removed support for a feature that allows ad blockers to work, so almost all browsers based on Chromium no longer support ad block browser extensions.
- #3 Firefox
- Firefox is the first browser on this list not based on the Chromium engine, rather the Gecko engine. Firefox doesn’t provide much feature-wise compared to the Chromium based browsers, besides a separation from the Chromium browser engine, meaning it still supports ad blockers.
- #2 Arc Browser
- Arc Browser is based on Chromium, but it sets itself apart from the other Chromium browsers by providing a huge amount of features, along with its own ecosystem for modifying the browser and sharing your customizations, similar to browser extensions but not quite.
- #1 Zen Browser
- Zen browser is like the Arc Browser but built off of Firefox rather than Chromium. It has almost all of the benefits of Arc but without Chromium. Zen is the number one choice for web browsers.
