As March rolls around, students of PVHS are drawing up their plans to go to the turnabout dance. Plans about dinner, after parties, dresses and groups are being brought up. Before making those plans, there’s the initial thought about finding a date. This decision, above all others, can turn out to be the most stressful decision of all. You have to worry about whether or not you want a date, who to go with, and then how to ask them. Here are the best and most fun ways to ask someone to turnabout.

  1. With food

Everyone has a favorite food, whether it’s fast food, a dessert or a drink. Giving someone their favorite food is a good way to get them to say yes. An even bigger plus would be to ask them with their favorite food and a cute note.

     2. With a poster

Posters are more time consuming than getting someone food, but it can be a more sentimental way to ask someone. The poster could have a pun, it could be cute or it could be really meaningful. Making a poster for someone is a great way to show them that you put in the time for them.

      3. At a sporting event

If your possible date likes big surprises, asking them at a sporting event might be the best option. It’s a grand gesture and can be really exciting for them and for the audience. Just make sure you know they will say yes.

      4. Using your pets

It’s hard to say no to a puppy. If your possible date is an animal lover, asking them with a pet is a great option. This adds an extemporaneous effect to your big question and is fun for everyone.

      5. Decorate a room

This way of asking requires a bit more of a personal connection because it’s obviously necessary to have permission to decorate their room or part of their house before doing so. When given the opportunity, decorating a person’s house with flowers or signs is a grand way to ask someone to a dance.

      6. Scavenger hunt

Of all of the ways to ask someone to a dance, this one will take the most planning and articulation. This will show the person being asked that you are willing to spend time doing things for them and they will have a fun time getting to the question.

      7. Use a pun

Asking someone to a dance using a pun is one of the more platonic ways to ask someone. This option might be better if you plan on asking a friend to a dance and it keeps things upbeat and light-hearted.

      8. Picnic

Asking your possible date to a picnic that you prepared for them is a very romantic way to go about doing so. This is a great date idea and a sweet way to show the person you’re asking that you really care for them.

She is also a two-sport varsity athlete, participating in both soccer and basketball. “Playing soccer is very liberating and it allows me to forget my stress from school,” Denny said when discussing her favorite of the two. Besides sports, Denny enjoys travel. Her most memorable trip was to California, where she learned how to surf, hiked up to the Hollywood sign, and explored Los Angeles. Another one of Denny’s loves is her social life. When it comes to social media, Denny explains why her most-used app is Snapchat. “I like Snapchat because I can see and talk to my friends at the same time,” she said. Denny’s smarts as well as her charming spirit makes her a valuable member of the Spartan Shield.
