Not everyone is a “morning person,” but if you follow the given steps, you could very well turn into one in no time. We all know if we start our day out in the wrong way, the rest of the day is not so great either. Here is how you can start your day better to have a better day and a better life.

1. Go to bed earlier so you can wake up earlier

In order to start your morning better, it is necessary to create more time. Going to bed earlier can be simple if you just spare yourself the extra hour spent on your phone or watching TV before bed; the sleep and benefits of more time to do things in the morning will be well worth it.

2. Have an appealing alarm clock tone

Everyone has that one sound chosen from the options on an iPhone alarm that they dread hearing after being awoken by it a bit too early too many times. Instead of this horror sound, set your alarm to a song that puts you in a positive mindset, a song you cannot help but smirk when you hear it. Just make sure it is not your favorite song because you do not want to ruin that.

3. Stretch/do yoga right after getting up

This can and will help you get in the zone for the day and start out on the right track. It will calm you down and put you in a good mood with a clear mind. Stretching can also help work out cramps or tension created in your sleep.

4. Journal

Write down your crazy dreams from the night before so you do not forget or record what you would like to accomplish that day. The five-minute journal is a great option for beginner journal users who are a bit limited on time.

5. Eat breakfast

Breakfast really is the most important meal of the day. It gets your body going when it is supposed to and provides you with essential energy you will need. Eating a full and nutritious breakfast will aid you even more throughout the day.

6. Enjoy the outdoors

Eat breakfast outside or take your pup for a little stroll around the block. This is even nicer if you wake up early enough to catch the sunrise. With a fresh breeze and the birds chirping, who could be in a bad mood?

7. Listen to words of wisdom

Whether it be your favorite positivity podcast or motivational song, start your day with words of positivity, advice or growth. This is another way to give yourself hope and positive thoughts for the day. Apple music and Spotify both have several wonderful playlists perfect for the morning vibe if you simply search “morning playlist.”

The main goal of these steps is to make the morning a better part of your day. It is the most important part of your day as your mood in the morning sets the tone for the rest of your day. Therefore, try to implement these steps into your morning routine and observe positive changes in your quality of life.
