Food trucks rolling into the QC

Throughout the Quad Cities there will begin to be many food trucks starting this summer around the first of June. Many citizens are very excited for the availability of cheap and easy food. Grace Budde, junior, said, “Food trucks seem like a good, cheap, and easy way to get different foods without having to drive super far for different good food. I think it’ll make for more options in the QC this summer.”

There will be a Food Truck Thursday hosted by the Bettendorf Public Library during the foundation sponsored summer concerts. During these weekly night time concerts, there will be a variety of food trucks that anyone can stop at to grab something to eat while enjoying the show. There will be many other options one can choose from, if they feel the desire to try something new.

When the Davenport farmers market is open this summer, many food trucks will start to appear there. There are two trucks that are the most well-known, and used by the Bettendorf and Davenport communities: La Flama and The Crepe Guy.

La Flama serves traditional mexican food such as tacos, burritos, chips, and salsa. Many of those that have ate there before rave about how delicious and inexpensive their food tastes. La Flama will be available from April to October at the K&K Hardware Store Tuesday through Thursday from 10:30am to 7:30pm. On Saturdays, people can see them at the Freight House Farmer’s Market in Downtown Davenport, IA from 8:00am to 1:30pm.

The Crepe Guy is a go-to food truck when in the mood for a blast of flavor, whether it be sweet or savory. Many say this is a must go place when in Davenport on the weekends. Kelsey Clarke, senior, said, “The crepes were so different and like nothing I have ever tasted before. I had both the savory and sweet crepes and they were both yummy. I definitely recommend everyone tries it.”  Along with La Flama, they [The Crepe Guy] are available at the Freight House Farmer’s Market in Downtown Davenport, IA from 8:00am to 1:00pm.
