Senior running back standout, Arthur Braden, had a record-breaking football career for the Pleasant Valley football team. Upon the conclusion of the 2017 season, Braden became the all-time career leading rusher in Pleasant Valley history totaling 3,264 yards. Braden also surpassed the previous single season rushing record with 1,353 yards and achieved the most rushing touchdowns in a single season, scoring 22 times.
Braden’s accomplishments aren’t just limited to school records, he also earned district honors. Braden was named to the Class 4A District 6 all-district first team and was also named co-offensive player of the year within the district.
“Being one of the best players offensively feels like a huge reward! All of the hard work I put in is being repaid to me and it’s the greatest feeling ever!” stated Braden.
Even though his time as a Spartan football player has come to an end, Braden will leave a lasting impact on the Pleasant Valley football program. Special teams coordinator and wide receiver coach, Ron Litchfield, said, “His [Braden] work ethic and positive attitude will serve as a model for the younger players.”
In the future, Braden plans to continue his football career at an undecided university. Many schools have shown interest in the talented running back, and he has narrowed his options down to seven different possibilities.
Braden’s remarkable rushing career will go down in Pleasant Valley football history, and he will hopefully continue to excel at the collegiate level next year.
