My two cents you never asked for: The Kardashians

You never asked me for my 2 cents about those crazy Kardashians, but I am most definitely going to tell you anyway.

Okay really, how did those girls become famous? Your rich daddy should not lead you to this much fame and fortune. I mean, what do they even do with their lives? It must be so hard to get plastic surgery and take “sexy” selfies… just kidding.

So this really got me thinking: who are we, as young women, idolizing? These women are not who they used to be. They used to be your average, everyday girls. They didn’t have makeup artists, hair stylists, and paparazzi buzzing around them like flies. This isn’t the image they should be creating for girls around the world because it’s just not realistic.

You cannot tell me that Kylie Jenner is all-natural. It’s not right to make other girls believe that’s what a natural woman looks like. We don’t have to look like that to be beautiful, and in fact, there’s more beauty in being natural than there is behind all of that plastic surgery.

It’s more than just the Kardashians. We spend so much time idolizing celebrities who truly aren’t good people. Personality is so much stronger than beauty will ever be. Besides, beauty really is in the eye of the beholder. What you have on the inside is precious, and don’t let anyone convince you otherwise.

We should be admiring women who are empowering and strong; women who keep it real and are honest about who they are and what they look like. You don’t have to be a “baddie” in order to be attractive. Being you is what makes you beautiful, not trying to be those women we stupidly dote on.

So next time you sit and idolize these Kardashian women, or any unworthy women at all, think about the people they really are.

Don’t idolize fiction.
