The days are getting shorter, the weather is cooling and leaves are changing colors. Fall is here, and with that comes chilly nights and cozy vibes. Fall is the perfect season to snuggle up and watch a comfort fall movie. Here are the top seven best comfort movies to watch in the fall.

1. The Twilight Saga

Despite the slightly cringy lines and strange plot, the Twilight series is the perfect series to binge in the fall. The movie depicts the love story between an average teenage girl, Bella Swan, and a 104 year old vampire, Edward Cullen. The addition of vampires and werewolves in this movie fits well with the spookiness of halloween. The entire movie has a very blue tint to it and a masterfully curated soundtrack that matches the overall aesthetic of Autumn perfectly.

2. When Harry Met Sally

In this movie, Sally Albright and Harry Burns meet as college students, and twists of fate cause them to run into each other at many different points in their lives. The color grading, audio quality and soundtrack of the movie makes the movie very aesthetically pleasing and comforting. The movie transports viewers into the beautiful Manhattan Autumn in the 70’s. Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal beautifully portray their characters in the movie, and the plot makes it to be the perfect feel good rom-com to watch on a gloomy fall day.

3. The Harry Potter Series

Harry Potter is just a classic for most people. Throughout 8 movies, the Harry Potter Series develops a fantasy realm that is filled with wizards, potions and spells. The allure of binging Harry Potter on fall nights is the nostalgia it brings most people. As school work starts to pick up, many people need a night where they can feel like little kids again.

4. Charlie Brown and the great pumpkin

Some might not even consider this a movie due to its short length of 25 minutes, but it deserves an honorable mention, for it is the perfect movie to watch in the fall. This movie shows the tale of Charlie Brown and his friends on Halloween night.  It has the perfect amount of nostalgia attached to it and can successfully transport viewers back to when they were younger.

5. The Scream Franchise

This would not be a good fall movie list without any horror, so this is the perfect movie franchise to watch this fall. The movies all follow the plot of a masked serial killer on the loose and the main characters having to find out who the mysterious killer is. These movies are great to watch on a fall night because they are perfect for the halloween season, entertaining to horror lovers, but also not too scary or gory like many other horror films, so it can be enjoyed by anyone.

6. Hocus Pocus

This movie is another throwback to childhood, where the main character, Omri Katz, accidentally summons 3 witches on halloween night. This movie is the best for the spooky season and even though it is meant for younger kids, it can be thoroughly enjoyed by older audiences. The comedy mixed with slight horror mixed with childhood nostalgia makes this a great comfort film to watch this fall.
